Hayden Lake Rancher
Hayden Lake
This project began as a complete remodel to a 1950’s rancher sitting on the beachfront to Hayden Lake, but due to setbacks and complications, was simplified into a partial remodel to take advantage of the existing elements and grandfathered in structure instead of continuing on the original plan of a full demolition and rebuilding the structure from scratch. Foundations, flooring framing, and grandfathered walls were all maintained and protected for reuse. A new master suite with a view of the lake, walk-in closet, and his and hers bathroom were developed into the existing area of the residence. The living room and dining room became separated by a two sided fireplace and have large windows to take advantage of their views of Hayden Lake. The upper level of the home consists of an office and home theatre room. Due to the site’s long, narrow configuration, we split the garage to create a dramatic entrance pathway to the main entry. After passing through the garages, visitors traverse down a series of steps to walk on a covered walkway and bridge, spanning a waterfall and stream, to the main entrance.
