Lakes Middle School 2019 Remodel
LTA Architects remodeled Lakes Middle School in 2009. Ten years later, we have completed another renovation to help accommodate the continued growth in the Coeur d’Alene School District.
The 65-yr-old school received a 17,300 SF addition that included relocating, expanding, and remodeling the choir room, adding a second gymnasium, and adding a new band room. The 1950’s locker rooms were renovated with new lockers, tiling, flooring, and fixtures. Industrial Arts received a new home in the “newly remodeled” existing band room. Approximately 5,000 SF of the u-shaped courtyard at the front of the school was filled in and houses a new media center, a new computer lab, and a hallway that now connects the two halves of the school. The remaining outdoor courtyard provides space for an open-air classroom. The front office was also remodeled and a secured entry was added.
Currently, Lakes Middle School houses sixth through eighth grades and accommodates approximately 690 students.
