Western Lake Home
Hayden Lake
This North Idaho lake residence was designed to maximize its generous views of the lake and mountains while meeting the needs of a large family. The lodge is accented to exude a warm, comfortable living environment fit for a growing family through its timber trusses and columns; cedar siding and high ceilings; cherry wood cabinets, door, and trim; stone counter tops; tile floors; richly colored plaster walls; and granite fireplaces. The residence features seven sleeping areas, being a large master suite, four children’s bedrooms, a bunkroom for sleepovers, and a one bedroom guest house attached by a bridge and stair tower. The connecting bridge between the guest house and main house features a natural drainage area underneath, which was enhanced to act as a water feature in the summer with a series of connecting pools, while serving as a runoff stream during the spring snow melt. A hydronic heating system maintains even temperatures throughout the home and keeps the paver driveway clear of snow and ice in the winter. Along with the heating system, state of the art sound, lighting, and home automation systems were installed to provide complete control over the house.
