Black Rock Log Chalet
Black Rock Golf Club
Constructed in 2004 on the Black Rock Golf Course, this 3,900 square foot log home is a mixture of a European Chalet, American West wood lodge, and modern conveniences. With its hand-peeled and exposed log beams, this residence is a nod to the old wood lodges of the American West, while the window boxes, red entry door, and red frame windows are characteristic of a Swiss chalet. A wonderful first impression comes from the front porch and grand columns which frame the main entrance. Once inside, you find the over-sized windows provide this 2-story open floor plan a spacious feeling. With 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bath, a great room, dining room, kitchen, and library, the house feels larger than it really is. There are three fireplaces, all faced with Idaho stone, inside the home, and reinforce the feeling of a ski chalet. However, don’t be fooled, because while the home may look and feel old, it’s anything but with state of the art mechanical and electrical systems. The outside living area continues the wonderful aesthetic of the home with a covered patio, outdoor fireplace, man-made stream, and waterfall which allows the owners to take full advantage of the home’s beautiful surroundings and magnificent views to the adjacent golf course.
