United Health Services CU | Spokane Valley, WA

United Health Services Credit Union (UHSCU) was a small credit union with a single branch located on the south hill near Sacred Heart Hospital.  With a growing membership in the Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake area they made the decision to build a second branch to serve their member needs.  LTA was selected to assist UHSCU in the preparation of space program and needs assessment.  As part of the process we also evaluated the selected site to verify that it was in the appropriate location to serve the UHSCU members.  Upon completion of the programming phase we conducted a design charrette with key employees of UHSCU to determine the location of the building on the site, traffic flow, building orientation and floor plan layout.

The 4000 S.F. building was located on the site so the signage and the main entry were oriented towards the busy intersection on Sprague Avenue.  The drive-up lanes were located to provide easy entry and adequate stacking space for members.  Member parking is located near the main entry for easy access.  UHSCU wanted the building to have a more traditional, strong and substantial presence.  We accomplished this by using a combination of masonry and brick.  The tower element was incorporated to provide a prominent location for signage and to signify the main entrance to the credit union.  LTA provided site selection, complete architectural and engineering services from concept design through construction administration.

The branch is located at 16402 E. Sprague Ave, Spokane Valley, WA.  The new bank was completed in 2014 with a budget of $1,000,000 and a final cost of $997,000.
